Mattia Pedrani breaks down the bobby skipper

I’ve been following Mattia Pedrani for quite a while now simply cause he helps me learn new stuff. He kind of makes every move look so simple (which is frustrating sometimes) cause he has a very clean style. When he tweeted about his new move I got impressed. He combined the first part of a ducking move, the bob with one of the oldest aerial freestyle moves, the willy skipper (which already counts more than 15 years). So I asked Mattia to write a few words on this!

The other day I was making a beat on my old PC and it was so slow that I decided to go for a quick backup and cleanup and found this text file from like 3 years ago in my “windsurf” folder that said : NEW MOVE to try. Duck the sail, take the back foot out and instead of doin a bob, swing the board around as you would for a regular willy skipper. Funny how the whole move was just sitting on my hard drive waiting…The other day I was sailing at Pier and it was pretty shitty, like most of the time lately. So I just said to myself :” Whatever, just switch it up and play around a little”. The first 2 attempts were pretty bad, then I took off, then crashed while rotating, and by the 9th attempt I got the result you see on video right now, a clean, brand new trick called BOBBY SKIPPER aka Bob into CF Willy Skipper. I really hope this will go mainstream, and it seems a lot of riders are planning to train it and maybe use it in competitions, maybe even against me!
